Five Flights Theatre Company

Five Flights Theatre Company
Founded just over a year ago in a five-flight walkup on York Avenue in Manhattan, 5 Flights is an ensemble of 13 passionate young theatre artists who have banded together to create original works – “to write what we know and give voice to our generation.”  Fresh from the theatre program at Marymount Manhattan College, they mounted two new plays -- written, directed, acted, produced and staged managed collectively. They will perform these new plays in rotating repertory:
DON'T STEP ON THE CRACKS
Original works about growing up . . . or not
Troubles arise as the harmony of young adulthood is suddenly interrupted by the monster lurking in the darkness: maturity. Infused with the whimsey and charm of children's stories, this play is a journey following 12 twenty-somethings in transition, grappling with the dark realities that accompany growing-up. Performed in New York City, Don't Step has played to sold out houses at Center Stage Theater.
YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE WEDDING OF ANDY PEPPERIDGE AND ALLISON SHORT
A wedding reception is the backdrop. Emotions run high. Perhaps a little too much wine is drunk. Lives are changed. Relationships challenged. Families disturbed. What happens to a closely knit circle of family and friends when the stasis of their lives has changed? Written by all 13 members of the company, and directed by three-year Woodstock Fringe stage manager extraordinaire, Alli Taylor, You Are Cordially Invited is a poignant and humorous romp, an interwoven tale of unfolding relationships of new and old friends.
