with Peter Tomlinson on the piano

Her most recent release, “A Little Dream,” is a gorgeous collection of standards. Accompanying herself on piano and guitar, she will be joined on stage with pianist Peter Tomlinson and upright bassist, Lou Pappas. BAR SCOTT is an independent artist who “sings because she cannot NOT sing.” She has recorded six CDs of original material and three of cover songs. She has performed live with many musicians including Ian Anderson, Phoebe Snow, Beth Nielsen-Chapman, Mindy Jostyn, Donald Fagen and Peter Schickele. She has been an ASCAP Special Awards winner for eleven consecutive years. Bar also owns Lucy Max Productions in Woodstock, New York. In the studio she wears many hats including writer, producer, performing artist, assistant engineer, and meal-provider. She arranges and performs almost all of the harmony vocals on her studio recordings, which have become a trademark of her sound. In concert, Bar plays piano and guitar, but is also heard singing >a capella especially in places where you wouldn't normally expect a singer to break out into song. She has sung in venues large and small including The Beacon Theater in New York City, The Tarrytown Music Hall, The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, The Cathedral at St John the Divine in NYC as well as The Tin Angel in Philadelphia, The Kleinert-James, Byrdcliff Theater, Woodstock Playhouse, Colony Café all in Woodstock, NY and house concerts and smaller venues around the north east. Beneficiaries include Ronald MacDonald House, Hope's Fund, Kodi's Kids, AHA Artists Helping Artists, Pennypack Trust, Woodstock Land Conservancy, and many other local, environmental and social agencies that help those in need. Bar has received many outstanding notations including Performing Songwriter's Top 5 CDs of the Year for Parachute in 2007; on of Top 5 CDs chosen by Chuck Eliot of WXPN Radio Philadelphia for Parachute.
