Woodstock Fringe Playwrights Unit
The act of creation is an act of courage
A dynamic group of playwrights, composers, lyricists, book writers and actors gather every week to share and develop new work. The culture of the PLAYWRIGHTS UNIT is one of community, nourishment, honor, mutual respect, and professionalism. This workshop is best suited to self-guided professionals in pursuit of excellence, who desire creative connection, collaboration with peers and share excitement and joy in the creative process.
For 15 years until February 2020, the Playwrights Unit met in Greenwhich Village, NY at the Westbeth Community Room. Then Covid. Since the arrival of the plague, the Playwrights Unit meets every Tuesday at 5pm on the Zoom platform.
At meetings of the Playwrights Unit, actors read scenes from works in progress. Following each reading the playwright may request feedback. Feedback is moderated to support the creative process of the playwright. Unfinished work, free of commercial constraints or contractual obligations is encouraged.
Participation is free of charge.
Admission to the WOODSTOCK FRINGE PLAYWRIGHTS UNIT is by invitation. Actors and Playwrights interested in participating should contact Wallace Norman by e-mail: woodstockfringe@gmail.com.
