Science Friction Orchestra
Musicians: Marc Black, Michael Esposito, Eric Parker and Geoff Parker
Four master musicians will combine forces in this extraordinary theatrical/musical event.
The artists explain: “We will screen some seriously greasy science fiction films from the '50s or '60s and sample their sounds on the fly and improvise to that sample while we continue to view the film. And then we'll watch as one thing just leads to another. Science Friction is what happens at the end of the day and you've been playing ‘regular music’ all day and this is the stuff that gets caught in the drain....and ya gotta clean it out of your brain pan by playing. Science Friction is wondering. It's what happens after the song fades out and no one gets to hear it. 'Til now. Science Friction is what's left when it's all gone. Science Friction is the witness.” The performers are: Marc Black, Michael Esposito, Eric Parker, and Geoff Parker, musicians and visual artists who have recorded and performed with: Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, Ian Hunter, Lou Reed, Bonnie Raitt, Richie Havens, Jack DeJonnette, Rick Danko, Peter Schikele (PDQ Bach), Lou Reed, Felix Cavaliere, The Blues Magoos.
